Christmas tree hunt
Can I just say a big YIPEE!!!! We went as a family to hunt down the perfect tree for Olive's first Christmas. For all of you rolling your eyes at a seemingly normal pre-Christmas activity, let me introduce you to Shane Everett. A closet Christmas lover, who for 5 years somehow convinced me that there wasn't a need to get a tree or any decorations! A born salesman, he can take your point of view and somehow convince you of the opposite point of view by the end of the conversation!!! Well, NOT THIS YEAR FOLKS. To any of you who are married to Mr. Scrooge, use your kids in your argument. They will be forever damaged to look back on holiday pictures with no Christmas tree. By the time we got it home and went for decorations, Shane was obsessing over the symmetry of the tree...making sure all of our bells, reindeer, and balls were perfectly placed! Woo Hoo! we even had classical Christmas music playing the entire time. Big break through. Big.

The whole convincing/ persuading think sounds all too familiar...a guy I know named John has that ability also! ;-)
Sadly, this is the first year we are not getting a tree. We will be in Portland for 3 weeks so no tree for us this year. Enjoy Olive's first Christmas!
You haven't had a tree in 5 years?!?! I'm so glad Olive could change the tide. I am a freak about the tree itself being symmetrical. I think we visited 3 different tree places last year before we found the perfect one. This year I think I will chill out a bit.
way to use kids...i think its totally appropriate
SO cute! Love the picture of Olive with the pine in the back! Can't wait to see the tree and all the trimmings. Will begrudgingly put ours up with me the other night! At least he got to watch football while he helped!
Gosh, is there a prettier family out there? I think not!
So proud of you, Kellie, for using Olive as leverage. Genius.
You are so cute!! What a happy little family this Christmas! Yeah for Christmas trees!
that is HILLARIOUS!!!!! i can see that entire conversation going down -
could olive possibly get any more gorgeous>?!?! good grief, kellie- she's amazing. glad you finally got a tree!
Hey girl, I just posted the recipe, sorry it took so long! Have a very fun Christmas!
Absolutely Scrumptious.
Hey Kelli and Shane! Good to catch up with you dude.
At night, my kids pray for the "babies who have been born and the babies who have not yet been born", they are still praying for baby Olive! They always giggle when the say the name "baby Olive".
Hope y'all are well. Merry Christmas.
Kelli you are beautiful!!

Haha! Such a good point. :) My hubby and I haven't had a tree in our several years of marriage...but our baby girl is due to be born the next few weeks and I think I should use her as my biggest motivation for a tree next year. :) That is, as long as we can fit it in our tiny apartment.
Kellie!
Golly! I don't know if you remember me (Daniella) but we met a few years ago in November in Sacramento, CA when the Shanes were touring with Mat Kearney. I don't exactly remember how I stumbled upon your blog website but I'm glad I did. Congrats on your gorgeous baby girl Olivia. I am now married with a baby girl of my own, Charlie Faith. Check out our blog website (you might just remember who I am): www.ChuckandJoshiella.blogspot.com Lot's of love!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe how big she's gotten. Get's cuter every time you post! Hope all is going great and that maybe we might see you in the near future!
